I’m Dr. Szabolcs Bozsányi, MD, PhD, a dermatology resident at the Central Hospital of Northern Pest – Military Hospital in Budapest with a research focus on psychodermatology and skin imaging. My work explores the interaction between stress, emotional regulation, and chronic inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. In my PhD years and later research, including my Journal of Clinical Medicine publication on frontal hemispheric lateralization, I investigated how psychological and physiological factors jointly influence psoriasis and atopic dermatitis mechanisms. After a postdoctoral fellowship at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Buffalo, NY), besides my residency I continue to study psychophysiological biomarkers of stress to better understand the mind–skin connection. I believe in a holistic approach to dermatology that combines medical therapy with psychological insight, aiming to improve both skin health and overall well-being.
