Dr. Shari Lipner is an Associate Professor of Clinical Dermatology, and Director of the Nail Division at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude from Dartmouth College. She obtained both M.D. and Ph.D degrees and graduated Alpha Omega Alpha from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed her residency training in Dermatology at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Lipner is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Women’s Dermatologic Society (WDS), and Council for Nail Disorders (CND), American Dermatologic Association. She serves as Vice President of the CND. She served President of The Dermatologic Society of Greater New York and Board of Directors of WDS. She is President of the New York State Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, and Founding Editor in Chief of JAAD Reviews. Dr. Lipner specializes in nail disorders. She is the Primary Investigator on multiple clinical trials. She has authored over 500 peer-reviewed publications, numerous books and book chapters, lectures nationally and internationally, and is frequently featured by the media including, CNN, The Washington Post, and The New York Times for her expertise.
