Dr. Oliva is a PGY-3 dermatology resident at the University of Michigan with primary interests in pediatric dermatology, medical education, and the integration of creative approaches into clinical training. She is currently developing a longitudinal curriculum that incorporates art into medical education to enhance visual observation, empathy, and reflective practice among learners. She has presented at multiple regional and national conferences and has published in peer-reviewed journals. She completed her undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University with a double major in Chemistry and Art History, followed by a Fulbright fellowship in Art History. Her early dedication to international health began during college with work in Argentina and continued through post-graduate service in Peru. Motivated to integrate nutrition into clinical practice, Dr. Oliva pursued a Master’s in Nutrition at Columbia University before attending medical school at Brown University. She completed her intern year in Pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital. Across her training, Dr. Oliva has remained committed to global health, innovative medical education, and cross-disciplinary thinking—drawing from her backgrounds in science, art, and clinical medicine. She aims to continue her career as a pediatric dermatologist dedicated to compassionate care, collaborative research, and advancing equitable dermatologic health.
