Madagascar
I am a WHO Country Representative in Mauritius and Madagascar respectively since October 2016 to April 2022 and May 2022 up to date. Before that, I worked as regional adviser for health system and financing (2007 to 2011) and Regional Office for Africa (May 2011 to September 2016). Before joining WHO, I have been working as a Dean of School of Public Health, National University of Rwanda from 2004 to 2007; District medical office (DMO) and Regional medical officer (RMO) in the Ministry of Health, Kigali, Rwanda for more than 10 years. I published and produced several papers and technical manuals and tools in national and international journals. In term of my educational background, I am a Medical Doctor; I have a master’s in public health; an Advanced degree in Health planning and Health Policies; a PhD and HDR in Medical Sciences specialized in Health Policies and Health Economics. I am knowledgeable and experienced in diplomacies by representing WHO in meeting and function organized by the government of Mauritius and Madagascar, collaboration with other UN agencies, civil society including NGOs, I am also appointed as Designated Official a.i. of UNCT in Mauritius and Madagascar since 2016 which gives me an experience of coordinating UN agencies and Development Partners (Bilateral and multilaterals) and cross cutting issues related to the mandate of UN agencies. In term of technical support, In my position as Country Representative, I strongly supported Mauritius and Madagascar for building and sustaining resilient health systems by development of evidence-based policies, strategies and plans, tackling communicable and noncommunicable diseases, preparedness and responses of outbreaks and naturals catastrophe, integration of interventions and partnerships, management of the office among others.
