Prof. John Paoli

Biographie

Professor John Paoli is Head of the Department of Dermatology and Venereology at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. His research group focuses on the prevention, epidemiology, early diagnosis and optimal management of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers. He has been teaching dermoscopy for over a decade and currently runs annual Nordic and national dermoscopy courses apart from international lectures on the topic. Together with Dr. Alex Chamberlain from Melbourne, Australia, he has acted as consultant editor on the 2nd Edition of Jonathan Bowling’s textbook "Diagnostic Dermoscopy: The Illustrated Guide". Professor Paoli is also a consultant dermatologist at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden where he leads the Mohs Surgery Center. He is the Administrative Coordinator of the International Dermoscopy Society and the Treasurer and Past President of the European Society of Micrographic Surgery. He has also been the President of the Nordic Dermatology Association, the Swedish Society of Dermatology and Venereology and the Swedish Society of Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology as well as a Board member of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology.
