Professor in Dermatology, University of Bologna, Italy Chair of the Dermatology Unit at the University of Bologna, Italy; Director of the Laboratory of Dermatopathology; Director of the Residency Program in Dermatology and Venereology; Coordinator of the PhD in Surgical Sciences and Innovative Technologies University of Bologna. Past president of the European Nail Society (ENS) Past president of the European Hair research Society (EHRS). Main research interests: hair and nail diseases. Author of 440 peer-reviewed scientific papers -with a total of approximately 9,980 citations and an h-index value of 54 (Scopus 2024)- and many book chapters on hair and nail disorders. Co-author of the European and Italian guidelines on the treatment of androgenetic alopecia and of several consensus of experts on the treatment of alopecia areata. Coordinator of many Italian and international epidemiological studies on several forms of cicatricial and non- cicatricial alopecia
