Systemic sclerosis is a rare autoimmune connective tissue disease, with cutaneous, vascular and visceral involvement. Patients of African descent tend to present with the more severe diffuse cutaneous form and increased mortality. Early diagnosis and treatment are critical. Salt and Pepper dyspigmentation is more prevalent in our populations and could act as diagnostic and severity markers in our settings.
